CCM is an abbreviation and means Contemporary Christian Music. It refers to music with an evangelical message or otherwise concerning Christian faith and subjects. It originated in the 60s of the 20th century, when the Jesus Movement began performing and recording music in a contemporary style, rather than the hymns and (Southern) gospel compositions which were prevalent in the church at that time. CCM is conjugate to terms like inspirational and worship. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
